Overview
What to expect
A travel health consultation is the part of the visit that makes everything else useful. Two travellers heading to the same country can need very different conversations depending on whether they are staying in a city for four days or moving through rural areas for six weeks.
The clinician reviews your destinations, route, dates, type of accommodation and activities, then talks through vaccines, prescriptions and practical precautions that apply to your trip. Where vaccines are appropriate, they can usually be given during the same appointment.
The clinic publishes a single consultation fee that covers the week, a flat fee for families and groups of four to six, and states there is no consultation fee for follow-up visits for the same destination. Prescriptions can be provided for travel-related medications not stocked at the clinic.
Travellers who benefit from a consultation
General reasons travellers book. Whether anything is appropriate for you is decided with a clinician, based on your destination, itinerary and timing.
- First trip to a region, or a return trip with a very different itinerary
- Families and groups travelling together who want one coordinated appointment
- Longer stays, rural travel or work placements abroad
- Travellers unsure which of many online recommendations apply to them

In their words
Verified reviews
“Wonderful travel clinic. Efficient, kind people, and the prices are half (sometimes even less) of what the other big companies in Toronto will charge. To make things even better, you don't need to pay the consultation fee if you decide to go back (within a certain time frame) to get more shots. This is a level of customer service you won't find at other travel clinics.”
“I had a wonderful experience at Travelmed, in preparation for our trip. Dr. Kavian took the time to sit with us and explain his recommendations in depth. He was kind, informative, funny and made you feel instantly at ease. The clinic is clean, easy to get to and with an appointment, we had no wait. I will absolutely be coming back for all of my travel needs.”
“Dr. Parham was extremely kind and attentive the moment we walked into the clinic. He provided my partner and I all the information we needed and he is very transparent about his prices and didn't push either of us to get extra vaccines for our upcoming travel.”
